Sherbet Bag and PJ's

I made my very first bag, the Melly & Me Sherbet Bag It was not as hard as I was expecting it to be, and even though it's far from perfect, I am really happy with it. It has a magnetic clasp closure, and is fully lined (though I forgot to photograph the inside!)

Another pair of PJ's for Gulli, and she has a matching pillowcase for her cot size pillow made out of the same flannelette material.

Although they are not photographed yet, I have also made another pair of trackpants for Lol Lol. The fit of them is so much nicer than bought pants over his cloth nappy.

Dave's parents are in town at the moment, and yesterday we all went down to Bredbo for lunch at the pancake cafe. Gulli loved her Banana and Chocolate pancake followed by a play on the playground. She may be just a tiny two year old, but she has no fear, climbing the largest ladders to go down huge slides! Lol Lol even had a turn on the baby swing which he seemed to really enjoy.

Jacquie's gifts

I came home today to find a surprise in the mail. My Mum's friend Jacquie (who I've never had the opportunity to meet) sent this lovely parcel of goodies for Gulli and Lol Lol.

The parcel included a picture book, two board books and a rabbit for each of them, the top set are Lol Lol's, and the bottom set were for Gulli.

Gulli was so excited by everything, she immediately sat down to read the books, while Lol Lol thought sucking on the "words" book was the way to do it!

Jacquie has been so wonderful to both of my children, she has knitted dolls and dogs which get dragged around everywhere, and given them other books too. I can't thank her enough for her generosity and kindness, and I really hope that one day I will get the chance to meet her.

Another gorgeous model!

Kimono PJ's

Gulli's firsts pair of Oliver & S Bedtime Story Pajamas are completed. I love this pattern, and the PJs seem so snuggly and warm for winter, and the Kimono style means I don't have to attempt a collar yet!

The hearts fabric is flannelette, and the stripy trim is a quilters cotton. After reading my sewing machines book, I've discovered an overlock stitch, so have used that to finish off the seams.

I have fabric to make one more pair for Gulli, and two pairs for Lol Lol. Hopefully they will be quicker to make now that I won't need to read every instruction five times to work out exactly what to do!

Overalls

I started Lol Lol's overalls on the weekend, and after a trip to the fabric shop this morning, they are now finished. Okay, so they're not perfect, but I have only been sewing for three weeks, and today is the first time I have ever done a button hole! There are two sets of buttons so that as Lol Lol grows the straps can be extended. The leg cuffs will also be turned up until he grows taller.

I am happy with the outcome.

And with the leg cuffs turned up:

What a gorgeous model!

And so it starts...

Due to Gulli's tiny waist and lack of a bum, I have given up the search for clothes which fit and am starting to make my own for her. Funnily enough, I enjoy it and have already branched out beyond the pants which she needs to skirts, toys and more.

My sewing thus far...

A twirly skirt for Gulli which I designed myself. It's quite long so should fit for some time.

A pair of cords for Gulli

Some cords for Lol Lol to fit comfortably over his cloth bum

Track pants for Gulli

Miss Gulli modelling her new Twirly Skirt

A "Scwappy Wabbit" each for Gulli & Lol Lol

Trackpants for Gulli (thanks Michelle for the pattern)

More Trackpants for Gulli

Even more trackpants for Gulli

A skirt for Gulli (modelled above)

A flannelette pillowcase for Gulli's cot size pillow

A pair of cords for Gulli (thanks to my scrapbooking ribbon stash for the pick ribbon)

A Grab Ball for Gulli & Lol Lol to play with
